Tomorrow's shift is going to look a little brighter—literally. I've been told I need to wear a high-visibility reflective T-shirt at work, and honestly, it makes perfect sense.
As a warehouse worker, safety is the most important thing. There's always a lot going on: forklifts moving heavy pallets, people walking between shelves, and sometimes tight corners or low visibility in certain sections of the building. Wearing high-visibility gear isn't just about following a rule; it's about making sure I'm seen.
The reflective T-shirt I'm wearing is designed to catch light and stand out, even in low lighting. That means if a forklift comes around the corner, or someone's backing up a cart, they'll spot me right away. It might seem like a small detail, but it could prevent a serious accident.
It's also part of being a team player. Everyone in the warehouse has to look out for each other, and high-vis clothing helps us do that. It's as if we're all sending the same message: He didn't say a word, but he was there.
So tomorrow, I'll wear that bright T-shirt. I won't just because it's required, but because I want to get home safe. I want my colleagues to do the same.
Stay safe and easy to see.
